I took Miles to this Crase training thing last night (Civilian response to an active shooter event). We stopped at Culvers to eat first. As I was dipping my frys into mayonnaise, two tables away an elderly woman fell off her chair and was having some medical episode. We cleared a space for her, moved tables chairs etc, 911 was called. and everyone waited for the ambulance to come. She was still breathing which was good , we just had to wait. So the poor woman at the table right next to her with her two small kids made her kids sit back down in their seats and said to her kids..."don't stare its not polite", and "eat your food" so the poor things had to sit there and stuff butter burgers down their throats while this poor woman was on the ground possibly dying right next to them. Im sure the mom did the right thing, what else could they do?! I finished my fries in the meantime, although I did feel quite guilty about it. Eventually EMS came, scooped her up and away and well it was quite an event.
Later that night we were telling Jeff about it, then as we were about ready for bed at 10 pm and I managed to rip my big toenail off on my bedroom door trying to keep our cat out...Jeff took me to the ER....as I was rolling in to the hospital 5 hours after our Culvers dinner...guess who passed right by us rolling out in a wheelchair towards the exit? YES, Culvers lady, she lives!!
