Covid rules on the fly

Theres so many new rules this year everywhere I turn! Wear a mask, follow the arrows at the stores, keep this far away from humans. Stand on the taped lines.

Even at pickleball now, all these people got together where I live and came up with new rules they like to enforce by yelling at us while we're literally in the middle of a game. We all MUST touch the same marker and write our names on some white board they put up....every 11 point game we play, even when theres open courts. We can't play with each other if we came together to play together...we have to play with a stranger , even if that stranger doesn't know the basic mechanics of pickleball and will never hit the ball to you. If you don't , you have to sit on the bench with open courts as far as the eye can see until someone else plays with them. You MUST hold onto your own ball. DON'T touch someone elses ball!! Oh that will really get some people angry.

You can't take stuff back to Meijers if the tag is removed, even if your 13 year old kids removed the tags you told them not to before trying on the bathing suits you bought them that they couldn't try on at the store because of a new rule. Because if the tag is removed, people will get Covid I'm told. But if the tag isn't removed, the garment is Covid free and can be returned to the rack....even if both have been tried on at home. I'm so confused and I hate arbitrary rules made up in times of chaos.

Or maybe I'm just generally a TERRIBLE rule follower? This is why I LOVE Jesus, I AM a horrible rule follower at heart. He's like "look, you STINK at this, but I still love you and Im here to help you navigate this crazy world." So Jesus HAS built this trust with me and I, word for word, wholeheartedly agree with ALL his rules...even if I still fall short.

But these new arbitrary rules people are making up on the daily? I'm so bad at this. I'm a prodigal at heart you guys. I'll tell you what, THIS is THE season of the prodigals older brother. If you're a rule follower, this is YOUR season to SHINE!!!!

I'll be over here, with a crooked mask on, walking the wrong direction down the grocery cart aisle, accidentally touching all your pickleballs, getting in fights with the Spring Lake pickleball rulers, questioning the Meijers return lady how on earth that policy makes any sense at all..then going home and stapling that tag back on only to return it to a different Meijers 🙂 Covid season is NOT for the prodigals, Lord give me strength!!!!

KerfuffleKerfuffleKerfuffle

I went into a store this week wearing a mask, like the compassionate Christian I am , wanting to spread the gospel and not my asymptomatic murder breath. The store was slow and no one was around so I decided to take the opportunity and share the gospel with the cashier who was clearly working on the front lines of this invisible air war we’re in. It went something like this:
" Kerfufflekerfufflekerfufflekerfufflekerfufflekerfufflekerfuffle.kerfufflekerfufflekerfufflekerfufflekerfufflekerfufflekerfufflekerfufflekerfufflekerfufflekerfufflekerfufflekerfufflekerfuffle"

Pretty sure she gave her life to Christ right then and there...I mean, It was kind of hard to tell , I couldn’t see her facial expression or understand her verbal response behind the plexiglass wall and vapor shield mask she was wearing over her triple filtered cloth face wear. She had dropped to the floor in what I’ll assume was sheer reverence to the Lord. It coincidentally happened at the same time an unmasked enemy walked into the store with his 3 unmasked accomplices ....I mean children.

So let’s suppose she dropped behind the counter out of fear of this breathing extra Murdery Manson family that just walked in the store for bread and not the gospel I shared. Perhaps I just breathed back in the gospel like my own carbon dioxide ...that's a win for me...more gospel to share for the next time!

I read this to my husband and he says: “what’s the point, to make fun of the mask wearers?” I said “the point is to make people laugh- hope it worked” 🙂 Bless all of you today in kerfufflekerffufles name.

Plague blessings

In mid March when all the toilet paper disappeared and we learned we’d all be homeschooling, I went out in my neighborhood for a walk. I talk to the Lord on these walks, it’s been a habit of mine since 2008. So I did what I always do; I looked up to the sky and started talking to the Lord. But this time He stopped me right away. He said “What are you looking at?” I was looking up and I paused, not understanding what He meant, I’ve been looking up at the sky for 13 years! “I’m right here, I’m in your neighborhood”. I stopped walking, I looked ahead of me at the road I was on; a quiet street dotted with homes on each side . Right away, I sensed the spirit of The Lord rushing through the streets and filling the homes. It astounded me. I knew This was the beginning of something good. God is on the move in a big way friends, He has been for a few months. After talks with so many different people the last few months hearing how their lives have been affected , more and more I see Gods hand at work. Not just his hand, His entire arm ; and His bicep is Big! He has rolled up his sleeve friends. He is blessing some who went through previous hard trials right now, and He is KNOCKING down Idols for many, if not all, in this season These idols include but aren’t limited to: jobs, money, relationships, schools, busyness, material goods, sports and even churches! And I hate to say that but YES we can make idols out of our churches and pastors. The Lord is saying “stop it” and He took it away. He is to be worshipped alone. We all know church is more than a building. We all know that we worship in spirit and truth. We can go without walls for awhile. It will be okay. God is STILL on the throne. Don’t miss what He is doing. It’s tailored to each of us, I dont know how. But, the Lord has a specific lesson in this for you...and it might not look like your neighbors...so quit looking at your neighbors. Comparison is the companion of misery. The Lord has something for YOU specifically this season. Ask Him what it is, He’ll show you. And you’ll be grateful at the end of this. This is a “Plandemic” alright, the Lord planned it...for you. Don’t miss it! It’s a great day to surrender to Jesus, what are you waiting for?!?! Also, I don’t think it’s coincidental that it was toilet paper that disappeared....the thing that cleans your sh!t up?? That’s the Lords job. That’s what He does!! Pay attention. And “hand” sanitizer? That was the other item that disappeared . Your hands represent what you do. No amount of hand sanitizer can change that...the Lord can sanitize you from the heart. Real change, real sanitation, Thankyou Lord for sanctification!

Last day of 12- Darby and Cooper

It’s Search and Destroys 13th birthday! Last night we said goodbye to a sweet 13 year era of their childhood . I decided to commemorate it by reading them their favorite childhood books once again 🙂 I dug out a dusty box from the basement containing all the books I’d read to them before they became readers themselves. I asked each of them to pull out A FEW of their favorites . They pulled out All of these lol. How could I say no? I read every one. At least they’re sleeping in now.
