Coopers friend who is not a usual girl

Cooper is anti-girl, for as long as I’ve known him. Today he came home to tell me how a girl from school keeps giving him her chocolate milk at lunch. He’s become friends the last few weeks with “this girl and her brother” somehow they’re both 5th graders and their birthdays are six months apart ; this makes zero sense but that’s the story he gave me so im sticking with it.

“So what’s the deal Cooper, does this girl like you?” ...”hmm” he says with a shoulder shrug and a look of embarrassment avoiding eye contact with me.

An hour later he tells me she wants to go to his football games so her parents are telling everyone that Cooper is her boyfriend. She tells Cooper her parents are calling him her boyfriend. Cooper says “tell your parents I’m not your boyfriend” ...he’s smooth like that.

I asked “what’s this girls name?” He responds “ I don’t exactly know”...he’s obviously good with details. He’s quiet for a minute longer before he continues ...” she’s actually different than other girls, she’s not like usual girls. Usual girls act like girls. She’s a tomboy.

“Usual girls acts like girls”...I love it!

He used to hate cats too. Glad he’s opening up to the possibility of having a girl as a friend...even if he doesn’t know her name....at least she’s got chocolate milk!!
