9/11 19 years Never forget
Remembering the police officers and firemen who died running INTO burning buildings to rescue strangers 19 years ago today, as the rest of us watched safely from our tv screens.
While we all vowed years ago we would never forget, please consider that police officers today are STILL risking their lives running towards danger for the protection of strangers. And they are imperfect like us! They have fears, emotions, and struggles like us! They also need Jesus, like us!
Gods Word says : "Greater love has no one than this, that someone lay down his life for his friends" John 15:13
They didn't even know them. Yet they saw fellow Americans and humans made in the image of God worthy of the risk. They operated from a sense of duty, fulfilling an oath to serve and protect.
I'll never forget.
To all the police officers and fireman still in uniform today, you are not forgotten. I support you and am immensely grateful for the work you do. I can easily sit here and say "I know its not easy", realizing my sentiments and words don't even scratch the surface of how hard it must be to risk your lives for us and have hatred and cries of defunding your pay as your reward. I don't walk in your shoes.
I'm disgusted at the way our sick culture has attacked you and discredited your work. I'm sorry it took the attacks on 9/11 to wake me up to honor what you do. Before 9/11 , I took you for granted, I too was one that dishonored your work and hated you. 9/11 changed me. Please forgive me of my ignorance.
I know you won't be perfect. I know that you struggle with sin like I do. I know this world is sinful. I'm also very aware that without you, this world will plunge deeper and darker in lawlessness and chaos than it already has.
I pray for your protection, I pray for blessing on this nation, I pray for a revival and for more people to repent of their wicked ways and come to Jesus. Lord, let this day remind us of whats good and true and Holy. Lets remember the sacrifices that were made. I'm praying for your people to be called to your name, for the souls you'll change today. Bless you Lord, let your will be done.
